Quixadá 2014: evasive maneuver by an airline flight approaching Fortaleza

What happened

According to a log of the then Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command, now in the OVNI collection of the Arquivo Nacional, around 12:10 on January 24, 2014, the crew of Gol flight 9109 (Brasília–Fortaleza), approaching Fortaleza, saw near Quixadá a large white object that moved in a zigzag from east to west, apparently at supersonic speed. The aircraft performed an evasive maneuver and the object is said to have passed at about 300 feet; the observation lasted a few seconds and the log, stamped as declassified information, mentions similar reports from other crews. No official analysis or conclusions are on record.
