Between air and water Military witnesses Video Radar
Unexplained
- What happened
- In May 2021 the filmmaker Jeremy Corbell released a video shot in the Combat Information Center of the USS Omaha, according to him on July 15, 2019 at around 11 p.m., in which a spherical object filmed in infrared descends toward the sea and disappears while a crew member exclaims that it fell into the water. Pentagon spokeswoman Susan Gough confirmed that the video and a subsequent recording of the radar screen had been shot by Navy personnel and included in the UAP Task Force's examinations, without adding further details. According to Corbell, up to fourteen unknown contacts appeared on the radar and a submarine searched for the object without finding it; these claims are not confirmed by public official documents.
- Proposed explanation
- No public official explanation. A comment attributed to Carrier Strike Group 9, reported by The Debrief, describes a possible spherical drone (UAS) that, according to the ship, had sunk, and reports that searches for debris in the water produced no results.
- Official investigation
- U.S. Navy; UAP Task Force (UAPTF); Department of Defense
