What happened
Two mission reports of the U.S. Air Force's 33rd Special Operations Squadron, relating to flights that departed from the Larissa air base in Greece, describe apparently circular objects, too small to make out details, flying just above the sea surface. On October 27, 2023, the object made several 90-degree turns at about 80 miles per hour; on October 29 another object flew in a straight line toward land at about 30 miles per hour, until the sensor could no longer distinguish it from the background. The reports and infrared videos were published on May 8, 2026, in the first series of the PURSUE system as unresolved cases; the coordinates in the documents are partly redacted and the legible portions place the first sighting in the northern Aegean and the second between eastern Crete and the southern Cyclades.
Proposed explanation
No explanation proposed: the cases are published as unresolved. In the reports the observer judges the objects harmless and indicates that they did not seem to be under intelligent control; according to the Greek press the images are too distant to draw conclusions.
