- What it contains
- The group of outside experts, chaired by the astrophysicist David Spergel, assesses how NASA can contribute to the study of UAP with unclassified data. It concludes that analysis is hampered by poorly calibrated sensors and by the lack of multiple measurements, metadata and reference data, and that, in the scientific literature, “there is no conclusive evidence suggesting an extraterrestrial origin for UAP.” It recommends an approach based on systematically collected data and supports the coordination entrusted to AARO.
- What it shows and what it does not
- It documents the position of an independent scientific group: the current public data do not allow conclusions and do not point to an extraterrestrial origin. The group works with unclassified data and does not examine the allegations about secret retrieval programs.
