- What it contains
- The report covers the period from August 31, 2022 to April 30, 2023: 291 new reports (274 from the period and 17 from the years 2019–2022), for a cumulative total given as 801. The public version does not say how many cases were resolved.
- What it shows and what it does not
- It documents the growth in reports after the establishment of AARO; it contains no evidence of non-human technologies nor, in the public version, the tally of resolved cases. DefenseScoop pointed out that the totals do not add up (650 plus 291 is not 801).
- How it came to light
- Published by the DoD and ODNI on October 18, 2023 in an unclassified version, cleared by DOPSR on October 17; copy hosted by The Black Vault.
