Skinwalker Ranch: AATIP involved or not?

Luis Elizondo

Weight: Minor or formal

First version
2022 · According to an analysis on Metabunk, in 2022 he tells Military.com that AATIP had nothing to do with Skinwalker Ranch. Metabunk – comparison of Elizondo's versions on dates, AAWSAP and Skinwalker
Second version
Aug 20, 2024 · In the book Imminent (pp. 106–107) he recounts having agreed, in private, that the research on Skinwalker Ranch was worth pursuing; as early as 2019, according to Jason Colavito, he had told Den of Geek that AAWSAP was created to fund research on the ranch's poltergeist-type phenomena. Metabunk – comparison of Elizondo's versions on dates, AAWSAP and Skinwalker
Analysis
The versions can be reconciled if one keeps his distinction between AAWSAP, which studied the ranch (among the documents released by the Pentagon on October 23, 2026 are BAASS reports on the “Utah Ranch”), and AATIP, which according to him had nothing to do with it; sharing an interest in a line of research in private does not mean that the program was involved in it. It is, however, a distinction that the DoD does not make (its description speaks of “AAWSAP/AATIP” as a single program) and the sources for the 2019 and 2022 statements are indirect.
