Alfredo Lissoni

Ufologist and journalist, co-author with Pinotti of the book on the RS/33 documents

2000–2005 · Historical figures (1933–2007) · Researcher

An Italian ufologist and journalist, he published with Roberto Pinotti in 2001 the book on the alleged Fascist documents of the Magenta case (Idea Libri) and wrote about it in Flying Saucer Review and in a series of online articles put together in 2005. According to Metabunk he found no eyewitnesses: the only testimony he collected came from a relative of an alleged witness. As with Pinotti, the authenticity of the documents is disputed: historians and members of CICAP consider them most probably modern forgeries.

Key claims
  • In Flying Saucer Review he presented the new documents as proof of a UFO cover-up ordered by Mussolini, proof destined to revolutionize ufology.
  • In his 2004 version he places the alleged crash on June 13, 1933 (Metabunk).
Controversies
  • The date of the alleged crash changes between versions: April 11, 1933 in the 2000 account, June 13, 1933 in Lissoni's 2004 article (Metabunk).
Today
Not cited by Grusch or Elizondo; his versions of the case are used in the critical analyses of Grusch's claims about Magenta (Metabunk, Skeptoid).

Evidence provided 1/2
He published the documents with Pinotti, but their authenticity is not demonstrated.
Claims track record 0/2
The dates of the alleged crash diverge between versions, and the documents are considered fake by most Italian ufologists, according to Skeptoid.
Conflicts of interest 1/2
Co-author of a book and articles on the case: a declared publishing interest.
