Person
Patrick Scott Armstrong
Host of the daily show “Vetted: The UFO Sleuth” (YouTube and podcast)
2023– · Media · Journalist
He hosts “Vetted: The UFO Sleuth,” a daily show on YouTube and as a podcast with episodes since June 2023, which as of October 31, 2026 counts 1,160 episodes in the feed and about 113,000 channel subscribers; Grusch and Elizondo are the most recurring subjects. He is above all a commentator: he shows clips, interviews, articles and posts by others, compares them and connects their content, asks for evidence and does not claim knowledge of his own about the programs. In the transcribed episodes he shows and attributes the material he comments on; links in the feed's written notes, by contrast, are rare (about 12% of episodes, 1.6% pointing to official documents), but this measure concerns only the notes, not what he shows on video. The terms of use state that the claims reported are not independently verified. In June 2026 he presented the documentary “Psionics: The Minds That Summon UFOs,” directed by Glenn Barden.
- Key claims
- He describes himself as a reporter who is neither a believer nor a skeptic; in a 2024 episode he said that the channel is for entertainment purposes and that what he says is opinion.
- Considers Grusch credible, but repeats that his claims remain without public evidence.
- He often uses “Bombshell” in titles (118 of the 215 titles of 2026) and has explained that he does so in a polemical sense, because announced revelations are presented as answers while the evidence does not arrive (episode of July 31, 2026). The title alone, deliberately emphatic and sometimes ironic, can therefore suggest a confirmation that the episode does not contain.
- Says he does not trust Elizondo, nor in general the protagonists of the debate, critics included (July 31, 2026). In February 2026 he reported third-party accusations against him, specifying that they were alleged, but adding the judgment, undocumented, that Elizondo is not trusted in the field.
- Controversies
- In November 2024 one of his titles asked whether Christopher Mellon would testify at the November 13 hearing. In an email to the researcher Douglas Dean Johnson, read in the response episode, Mellon explained that he had agreed to testify in September but that the new date coincided with a trip already scheduled; Johnson had criticized Vetted for not asking him first. Armstrong apologized and defended the title, which ended with a question mark, explaining that the capitalized “WILL” was ironic.
- Ron James, protagonist of several Vetted “exclusives,” is among the associate producers of his documentary.
- Today
- Active; as of October 2026 the documentary “Psionics” is on the main streaming platforms and a second documentary is in production.
Documented authority
It measures how documented and verifiable what the person claims is, not their honesty. Each criterion is scored from 0 to 2.
- Credentials 1/2
- The role of host is documented by the feed and the channel; the press profiles cited on his website are not verified.
- Direct access not applicable
- Comments on material by third parties; does not claim direct knowledge of the programs.
- Evidence provided not applicable
- Not applicable, as for the other commentators: he puts forward no theses of his own to prove and comments on others' claims by showing the material they start from. The personal judgments he adds, such as his distrust of Elizondo, remain undocumented opinions.
- Claims track record 1/2
- Mixed: a rumor relayed with a question-mark title proved wrong (Mellon's testimony, 2024); in other cases he scaled down others' rumors by showing the original clips, such as the alleged accusations by Rep. Luna (2025), or presented the news of the UFO held at Pax River (2026) as an old story picked up from anonymous sources.
- Conflicts of interest 1/2
- The show is monetized through sponsors, subscriptions and paid credits for the documentary, as disclosed; a recurring guest of his “exclusives” is among the associate producers of the documentary.
