The “disc photo” shown by Elizondo: they were irrigation circles

Explained

What happened
On May 1, 2025, during a meeting at the House Oversight Committee, Luis Elizondo showed a photo of an alleged silver disc 600–1,000 feet in diameter that a civilian pilot had reportedly taken at 21,000 feet near the Four Corners. Immediately afterward, independent analysts identified the image as two circular irrigated fields photographed from above on the plains of eastern Colorado. There has been no official investigation, and the date the photo was taken is not documented.
Proposed explanation
A Reddit user and participants in the Metabunk forum located the two circular irrigated fields on the ground, about an hour east of Colorado Springs; Mick West observed that the shadows were not consistent with a suspended object. Elizondo later said he could not vouch for the authenticity of the photo.
