The 600–1,000-foot lenticular object

Luis Elizondo

Weight: Substantial

First version
May 1, 2025 · At a briefing in a room of the Oversight Committee he presents the photo of a silvery lenticular object between 600 and 1,000 feet in diameter, taken by a civilian pilot at 21,000 feet. Futurism – the photo of the alleged lenticular object, May 2, 2025
Second version
May 2025 · After the image is identified as two irrigation circles in Colorado (by a Reddit user and by Mick West), he says that the photo had been given to him that very morning, that he could not vouch for its authenticity and that it was not a mistake he needed to admit. Futurism – the photo of the alleged lenticular object, May 2, 2025
Analysis
Elizondo said he could not vouch for the photo, but he had presented it in an institutional setting with precise dimensions and altitude before verifying it, and the subsequent reply shifts responsibility onto the source. An innocent explanation is trust in a pilot considered credible and the haste to share material just received; it remains the second case in a few months of an image presented as anomalous and then traced back to an ordinary explanation.
