Luis Elizondo: Maintains that Roswell may not have been the first event and that he has seen very convincing documentation from Italy, validated and attributed to the Mussolini era; the sources that cite him link it to the alleged Magenta retrieval of 1933 and to the so-called “Gabinetto RS/33.”

Luis Elizondo · May 2021 · Video interview (May 2021), cited by Skeptoid and the Very Exciting Time podcast (Interview)

Based on documents Historical cases

Unverifiable

He has not publicly indicated which documents he saw, and the documents on the “Gabinetto RS/33” made public by Roberto Pinotti are considered probable modern forgeries by historians and members of CICAP, while supporters cite analyses of ink and paper.

In support
Roberto Pinotti, who published the documents in 2001, considers at least part of the material authentic; David Grusch also cited a retrieval at Magenta in 2023, but according to Skeptoid the information could come from the same chain (Pinotti → Elizondo → Grusch).
Against or denials
According to Skeptoid, almost all other Italian ufologists consider the documents a hoax; for historians and members of CICAP they are probably modern forgeries (Italian Wikipedia); it has not been verified whether the 2024 AARO report covers the case.
