Hearsay Historical cases

Contradicted

It conflicts with the official explanation of the episode (Project Mogul balloon, taken up by AARO in 2024); the sentence is reported by GB News and, via Wikipedia, by the Times, but has not been verified against the text of the book.

In support
Jay Stratton, a former AATIP colleague, argues in the book Out of the Shadows (October 2026) that the occupants at Roswell were captured; neither claim is accompanied by public evidence.
Against or denials
The U.S. military attributed the Roswell debris to a Project Mogul spy balloon (Kloor's summary, 2019), and AARO's historical report (March 2024) points to Project Mogul as responsible for the crash; AARO states that it found no evidence of extraterrestrial craft or bodies. A letter from General Nathan Twining dated September 23, 1947, written two and a half months after the episode and released in 2026 among the PURSUE files, lists among the points to consider the lack of physical evidence in the form of items recovered from crashes; it cannot rule out more secret programs of which the author was not informed.
