Bodies: “not seen” under oath, then footage of three or four corpses

David Grusch

Weight: Central to credibility

First version
Jul 26, 2023 · Under oath, asked whether he has seen any bodies, he answers that it is something he has not personally witnessed; the documentation on the biological remains, he says, can be discussed only in a closed room. Official transcript of the July 26, 2023 hearing in the House of Representatives (GovInfo, CHRG-118hhrg53022)
Second version
Sep 30, 2026 · On Joe Rogan's podcast, not under oath, he says he saw classified footage of a retrieval operation with three or four non-human corpses of human-like appearance, captured in a panning camera shot. IBTimes UK, Grusch says he saw footage of beings resembling “Greek gods” (October 4, 2026)
Analysis
Strictly speaking the two statements do not exclude each other: seeing footage is not the same as seeing bodies in person, and in 2023 Grusch deferred the documentary details to a closed setting. What remains open, however, is when he saw the footage. If it was before the hearing, the sworn answer appears reticent on a central element; if after, while he was outside the government or on Burlison's staff, it is unclear how he gained access to it. On the Metabunk forum a user pointed out three possibilities: viewing after leaving the government, failure to report it to the task force, a report left without follow-up. The footage is not public; in October 2026 Burlison said he is still on its trail and dismissed the idea that Grusch took classified documents. The 2026 statements are known from unofficial transcripts and press reports.
