Magenta: the “bell” detail absent from the original documents

David Grusch

Weight: Minor or formal

First version
1996 · According to Metabunk's analysis, the original Italian documents on the Magenta case describe a disc 10–12 meters across. Metabunk, “Claim: A UFO crashed in 1933 Italy”: analysis of the documents on the Magenta case
Second version
Sep 30, 2026 · Grusch describes the Magenta craft as a lenticular disc whose rim is said to have broken off, leaving a bell- or acorn-shaped form. The Joe Rogan Experience No. 2560, episode with David Grusch (Apple Podcasts, September 30, 2026)
Analysis
Grusch starts from a disc in any case, so the difference concerns the detail of the breakage. According to Metabunk, the bell shape, like the role of the Vatican and the details of the American retrieval, appears only in William Brophy Jr.'s letters to Flying Saucer Review dated after 2004: if so, Grusch's account would follow the later versions rather than the 1996 documents. Alternatively, his source could be an independent classified briefing, which however cannot be verified. Metabunk's analysis is the work of users of a skeptical forum.
