Bill Moore
Ufologist, co-author of The Roswell Incident; admitted to disinformation activities
1980s · Historical figures (1933–2007) · Researcher
An American ufologist, he wrote The Roswell Incident with Charles Berlitz; after the book he was approached by Richard Doty and others who presented themselves as AFOSI agents and who, according to historians, recruited him with promises of evidence that were never kept. With Jaime Shandera and Stanton Friedman he released the MJ-12 documents in 1987; he has admitted to typing and stamping an “MJ Twelve” memo as a facsimile and, according to Peebles, the date format of the documents matches that of his notes. In 1989, at a MUFON conference, he stated that he had carried out disinformation activities against Paul Bennewitz on behalf of AFOSI.
