Thomas R. Wilson
Vice admiral, director of the DIA (1999–2002); denies the Wilson–Davis notes
1997–2020 · Historical figures (1933–2007) · Official
A U.S. Navy officer from 1969 to 2002, he headed the Defense Intelligence Agency from July 27, 1999 to July 2002. According to the Wilson–Davis notes, at the time of the April 1997 meeting with Greer, Mitchell and Miller he was deputy director of DIA/J-2, and on October 16, 2002, in a car behind an “EG&G Special Projects” building, he reportedly told Eric Davis that he had identified a reverse-engineering program involving an intact craft, without obtaining access. Wilson denied the document, calling it an invention, said he would not recognize Davis and said he was willing to testify before Congress; according to Richard Dolan, in 2008 he confirmed the 1997 meeting, judging its contents worthless.
- Key claims
- Called the Wilson–Davis notes pure invention, including in a 2020 email to Ross Coulthart.
- Said he would not recognize Eric Davis if he walked in.
- Said he was willing to testify before Congress without a subpoena or immunity.
- According to Richard Dolan, in 2008 he confirmed the 1997 meeting with Steven Greer, Edgar Mitchell and a third participant, judging its contents worthless.
- Controversies
- The notes that attribute to him the discovery of a reverse-engineering program have been in the House record since 2022 but have not been authenticated; supporters note that some organizational details (SAPOC, Perry, Kaminski) are corroborated in public sources, while Mick West and John Greenewald point out that they offer no verifiable evidence.
- Today
- The notes concerning him have been in the House record since 2022 and Christopher Mellon has maintained their authenticity; the latest denial by Wilson reported in the sources collected is the 2020 email to Coulthart.
