The “Wilson–Davis” notes entered into the record of the May 17, 2022 hearing
EWD Notes (so-called Wilson–Davis notes) – HHRG-117-IG05-20220517-SD001
Author not established; entered into the record by a subcommittee of the House Intelligence Committee · May 17, 2022 · USA · Other
Authenticity not established
Authenticity disputed: the PDF on congress.gov is authentic as a document in the hearing record, but its content is not verified. No documented provenance, denial by Wilson, no confirmation from Davis or from official bodies.
- What it contains
- A 15-page scan of notes headed “EWD NOTES,” with an ambiguous date (usually read as October 16, 2002), which report an alleged conversation between the physicist Eric Davis and the former DIA director, Vice Admiral Thomas Wilson. They discuss a 1997 meeting at the Pentagon with Steven Greer and Edgar Mitchell, MJ-12 and Roswell, and a reverse-engineering program at a contractor that allegedly holds an intact craft, to which Wilson was reportedly denied access.
- What it shows and what it does not
- It shows only that the text entered the records of a congressional committee, not that it is authentic: the person who submitted it did not vouch for its veracity, then-Under Secretary Ronald Moultrie said he was not aware of it, Wilson has called it pure fiction and Davis has not commented. No official body has authenticated it and its provenance remains unknown; for this reason the entry marks it as unverified.
- How it came to light
- Appeared online without provenance on April 19, 2019 and circulated from June 2019; Rep. Mike Gallagher had them entered into the record of the May 17, 2022 hearing, specifying that he was not ruling on their veracity.
