David Grusch: To Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, who asked where to look for corroboration, Grusch replied that he would give precise pointers in a closed setting; he also offered a list of people with direct knowledge of the program and referred the documents on the “biologics” to a SCIF.

David Grusch · Jul 26, 2023 · House hearing, Oversight Subcommittee on National Security (under oath)

Not kept

After the hearing, officials told lawmakers that Grusch did not have a valid clearance for a session in a SCIF; in January 2024 it was the Intelligence Community Inspector General who briefed House members, without him. Grusch has never met with AARO and, after becoming an adviser to Burlison, missed the task force's closed-door briefings of April and May 2025. There is no record of any closed session with Oversight members by the end of the 118th Congress or afterward; the outcome is provisional, because an unpublicized meeting cannot be ruled out.
