Direct knowledge Complaints and legal process

Partly verified

A DoD document confirms that the Air Force concluded there had been no unauthorized disclosure but denies that a report was filed with the competent oversight office, and Grusch's words are known from a partisan summary, without verification of the audio.

In support
In the letter of November 1, 2023 to Rep. Burchett, released in May 2026 in the DoD's FOIA Reading Room in connection with Grusch's lawsuit, the DoD reports that the Air Force subsequently indicated that the information had been properly coordinated and that there had been no unauthorized disclosure.
Against or denials
The same letter states that no one in the Air Force ever filed a report with the DoD's Intelligence Oversight Directorate (IOD); it does not rule out reviews initiated elsewhere.
