Official position · S-028
Responding to Burchett, the DoD wrote that no one in the Air Force had filed a complaint with the Intelligence Oversight Directorate (IOD) and that the Air Force had subsequently reported that Grusch's information had been properly coordinated, so there had been no unauthorized disclosure. The letter was made public on May 18, 2026 in a FOIA release connected to Grusch's lawsuit.
