The dates of AATIP change depending on the setting

Luis Elizondo

Weight: Substantial

First version
Jul 2018 · In the account of the interview with Keith Kloor, AATIP appears to have been created in 2007; at the MUFON conference he says that in 2008 the program was already evolving. Keith Kloor, “UFOs Won't Go Away”, Issues in Science and Technology, Spring 2019
Second version
Aug 20, 2024 · In the book Imminent he places AAWSAP around 2008–2010 and AATIP around 2010–2017; at the hearing (November 13, 2024) he dates his entry to 2009, and in the documentary The Age of Disclosure (2025) he says he was assigned to AATIP in 2009. Analysis
Other versions exist: KLAS (2018) reported that AAWSAP ended after 2011 and that he was tasked with continuing its work; according to an analysis on Metabunk, in the complaint to the Inspector General (2021) he stated that he had led both programs from May 2010 to August 2012. The official documents indicate a DIA AAWSAP contract from September 2008 with payments until December 2010, the name AATIP in Senator Reid's request of June 2009, a DoD description that places AAWSAP/AATIP in 2009–2012 and his arrival at the OUSD(I) on September 28, 2008. Part of the differences may depend on the confused history of the two names, on journalists' paraphrases and on a preparatory phase of the program in 2007; overall, however, the dates are not stable.
