Retaliation: from “administrative terrorism” to a plan to kill him

David Grusch

Weight: Substantial

First version
Jul 26, 2023 · Under oath he describes “very brutal” retaliation and an “administrative terrorism” planned by senior executives of the agencies where he worked, without adding anything more in public. Official transcript of the July 26, 2023 hearing in the House of Representatives (GovInfo, CHRG-118hhrg53022)
Second version
Sep 30, 2026 · He says he was “administratively nuked” with fabricated accusations, that he was investigated by three agencies at the same time, and that he learned, in a closed-door meeting with the Senate intelligence committee, that some officials wanted to kill him, before the plan was blocked. Shortform, commercial (partial) summary of episode No. 2560 of The Joe Rogan Experience
Analysis
The theme has been constant since 2021, when Grusch says he suffered months of retaliation after the report to the Pentagon's Inspector General, but the gravity of the accusations grows: the alleged plan to kill him appears in 2026, in a setting not under oath, and is known from commercial summaries and unofficial transcripts. In 2023 the DoD said it had no information on people harmed for having spoken with AARO, but the statement does not concern Grusch, who did not speak with AARO. The outcome of the retaliation investigation opened in 2023 is not public. One innocent explanation is that in 2023 Grusch avoided details out of legal caution, as he did on other topics.
