Elizondo's written answers to Rep. Burlison's questions
Responses to Questions for the Record at the Hearing «Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth» (Luis Elizondo, December 19, 2024)
Luis Elizondo, in response to the House Oversight Committee · Dec 19, 2024 · USA · Letter
Documented provenance
The copy is circulated by an advocacy organization, not by an official site: the dates, header and committee letter are consistent with the hearing record, but the text has not been compared with an official version. The answers are not given under oath.
- What it contains
- Answering Eric Burlison's written questions, Elizondo describes himself as “the senior ranking person” of AATIP and writes that the $22 million funded “AAWSAP/AATIP,” including 37 studies published as DIRDs; he also cites a statement by James Lacatski cleared by DOPSR in September 2023. He describes retrievals of craft of non-human origin and of biological samples, a transfer of materials from Lockheed Martin to Bigelow Aerospace to which the CIA allegedly objected, and facilities in the Las Vegas area and a new hangar at Naval Air Station Patuxent River intended to hold them. He also claims that after September 11 the “legacy” efforts on UAP were reduced because of budget constraints.
- What it shows and what it does not
- It contains Elizondo's most detailed claims about the alleged retrievals, but they are not made under oath nor accompanied by evidence, and at the hearing he had said he could not go into detail. The description “senior ranking person” and the attribution of the $22 million to AAWSAP/AATIP should be compared with the AAWSAP contract and with AARO's historical report.
- How it came to light
- The questions were transmitted by the committee on December 9, 2024 and the answers are dated December 19, 2024; the online copy is hosted by the New Paradigm Institute, a pro-disclosure organization, while the official transcript lists the questions for the record among the hearing documents.
